Terms of Service

By accessing or using SharedPaint, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

SharedPaint is a collaborative pixel canvas where registered users can place colored pixels on a shared, permanent canvas visible to anyone. Users receive a starting credit balance upon registration and may purchase additional credits to place more pixels.

SharedPaint is an independent project currently in active development. The service is provided as-is and may be subject to changes, interruptions, or discontinuation without notice.

You must sign in via Google OAuth to place pixels. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You must provide a unique alias upon registration, which will be publicly associated with your pixel placements.

• Each pixel placement costs 1 credit and is permanent — it cannot be undone or deleted by the user
• Pixels are protected for 7 days from placement — no other user can overwrite them during that period
• After 7 days, any user may overwrite your pixel
• SharedPaint does not guarantee that your pixels will remain permanently visible, as other users may overwrite them after the protection period

Users receive a free starting credit balance upon registration. Additional credits may be purchased through the platform when payments are active.

• Credits have no monetary value and cannot be refunded once purchased
• Credits that have been spent on pixel placements cannot be recovered
• SharedPaint reserves the right to modify credit pricing and packages at any time

Any revenue generated by SharedPaint will be reinvested in improving the platform and infrastructure.

SharedPaint imposes no editorial restrictions on the content of the canvas beyond what is required by Italian law. Users are free to express themselves through pixel art without prior moderation or censorship.

The only prohibited content is that which is explicitly illegal under Italian law, including but not limited to: child sexual abuse material, content inciting violence against specific individuals, and content that constitutes a criminal offence under the Italian Penal Code.

SharedPaint acts solely as a platform and does not monitor, endorse, or take responsibility for any content placed by users. Responsibility for pixel placements lies entirely with the user who placed them. SharedPaint reserves the right to remove content or suspend accounts only in cases of verified legal obligation.

The SharedPaint platform, logo, and codebase are the property of the project owner. Pixel placements contributed by users collectively form a shared work. By placing pixels, you grant SharedPaint a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and reproduce the canvas for the purpose of operating the service.

SharedPaint is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any loss of data, interruption of service, or damages arising from the use of the platform. In no event shall SharedPaint's liability exceed the amount you paid for credits in the 30 days preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We may also update these Terms — continued use of SharedPaint after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

These Terms are governed by Italian law. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Italy.
